The 8 week Better Sailing course introduces kids aged approximatley 7-16 years to the Sabot, Optimist or Quest dinghy. Kids will be learning how to make the boat go faster and playing more games all while still under the guidance and support of the Instructor and Assistant Instructors. BSS have club Sabot and Optimist dinghies available for the coaching sessions however junior sailors at this level are encouraged to be sailing in their own boat.

Course Overview

This course focuses on sailing in stronger winds and introducing extra equipment like spinnaker and trapeze to leverage the full boat potential on the water.

Course Prerequisites

Water confident, and you should have the skills, knowledge and experience gained from the Start Sailing 2 course.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to continue developing their sailing skills in dinghies. 

Course Outcome

You will gain your Better Sailing completion certificate.
