Try Sailing is an introductory sailing program where kids aged from approximately 7 – 16 join our experienced instructors in a Quest dinghy. Kids will experience the thrill of sailing before you take the plunge and join our Club and its Learn To Sail programs.

Once they’ve had a go, at no expense at all, if they would like to carry on we would welcome them to the Club as a Cadet member. They will join in with a small group of sailors just like them, learning the skills and gaining experience to ensure a life time of sailing adventures.

As part of the registration process a complimentary membership of the club is required.  Select "Try Sailing" as the membership type.  If you have registered as a member before, you will need your membership number.  You can use this link to find your member number

Who should do this course?

This is the perfect 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time. This is the perfect introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.

Course Outcome

Following the course, you will receive a completion certificate.

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
